Our Featured Fellow for June 2024 is Dr. Wendell Grinton, Jr., who successfully defended his dissertation on April 30th and received a doctoral degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Virginia Tech. He also earned a graduate certificate in Disaster Resilience and Risk Management (DRRM). His doctoral research focused on ways to improve the communication of civil infrastructure messages to the public.

Lessons from Louisiana

In January 2024 the Mennonite Disaster Service (MDS) hosted BAF Fellow Brittany Giles Jones as part of a multi-organizational site visit to disaster-affected communities in Louisiana to help inform research and practice.

Our Featured Fellow for November is Dr. Christin Salley. Dr. Salley graduated with her PhD in Civil Engineering, with a concentration in Construction and Infrastructure Systems, from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology this summer.
