Each year, a committee of current Fellows and a member of the BAF Alumni Network organize the BAF Lightning Talks session at the Annual Natural Hazards Research and Applications Workshop. This highly anticipated event provides an excellent opportunity for Fellows to present their research to an international audience.

Over the course of several months, the committee works with a select group of Fellows representing diverse disciplines, methodological approaches, and research topics to sharpen their science communication and public speaking skills. During the session, each presenter covers 20 slides in seven minutes to deliver a compelling narrative about their research.
